She has been an adjunct professor at Florida International University in Miami, Florida and in the College of William and Mary and the University of Richmond's executive development programs. She holds degrees in English, Theater, and the Administration and Supervision of Adult Education. She is best known for her research in brain hemispheric functioning and its impact on relationships, learning and teaching styles, leadership styles and daily living.

For two years she wrote the parenting article "Family Matters!" and hosted her own radio show. She has worked with governors' staffs, had national television visibility, and shared conference billing with celebrities such as Dr. Joyce Brothers, Elizabeth Dole, Tipper Gore, and Charlton Heston. Her powerful messages are extended into her book, workbook, and tape series, "Ten Steps to REVOLUTIONIZE Your Life!"
